About Us

We’re Scott and Stephanie Nelson, founders of Nelson Land Service. We started our business in 2001 in Lake Ozark and now proudly serve both the Lake of the Ozarks and St. Louis areas.

We’re a true family-owned and operated company. All four of our kids have worked for the business at one point or another, and two are currently involved. Alek works full-time as our landscape and pool designer, and Bella supports our office team and manages social media. Scott’s brother, Todd, is our operations manager in Lake Ozark and has been with us since 2004. Over the years, even our extended family—including parents, siblings, and in-laws—have pitched in. It really has been a family effort from the very beginning.

We launched the business with just the two of us and a couple of employees, handling lawn care and small landscaping jobs. As the Lake area grew, so did demand, and we saw the need for a full-service lawn and landscape company that could handle everything from start to finish. We ran with that vision and never looked back.

In 2015, we began splitting our time between Lake Ozark and St. Louis so our kids could pursue hockey at a higher level. That move inspired us to expand the business, and in 2016, Nelson Land Service STL officially launched. In 2021, we added pool construction to our services and created Nelson Land Service & Pools.

Both of our locations offer the same quality services with the same level of care. Scott still drives between them each week to stay hands-on. We’ve grown a lot since 2001—we now have a dedicated team of employees and two amazing office managers. Many of our team members have been with us for years and truly feel like family.
